Navi Mumbai: 18-year-old tries to jump from second floor of building over 'domestic issues', rescued – Times Now

Navi Mumbai: In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old girl in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai attempted to commit suicide. The girl from Koparkhairane tried to jump from the second floor of the building and was standing on a narrow slab connecting the flat’s balcony.
Reports suggest that the girl was under mental stress allegedly due to domestic issues and thereby she took this extreme step.
The girl was rescued after the Vashi and Koparkhairane fire brigade tried to keep her occupied by keeping her engaged in a conversation.
In the meantime, the firefighter reached the slab where she was standing with the help of a ladder. The girl was safely brought to her balcony.
According to Rohan Kokate, fire officer, they had received the information about the 18-year-old around 6 pm. They reached the spot within five minutes and some of his staff reached the girl’s balcony and the jumping sheet was also spread on the ground for her safety. 
He further added, “While our firemen kept the girl engaged in conversation, I used a ladder and reached the second floor,” as per the report published in the Times of India.
Further elaborating the case, Sopan Rakhonde, PSI, added that after the girl was rescued, she was counseled at the police station and her parents were also present there.
According to her parents, the girl was mentally stressed due to ‘domestic issues’. The girl’s father was in the tour and travels business while she had pursued HSC.
